Our Story
In the late 1990s both Sue and Jane were working for the Law Claims section of the SA Law Society. Law Claims manages the professional indemnity scheme and acts for solicitors that have claims made against them. At that time insurance premiums for the legal profession in Australia were escalating. In an attempt to reduce claims it was decided to embark on an extensive risk management education program for the SA legal profession.
For several years Sue and Jane developed and presented seminars for the profession on behalf of the Law Society. In the words of Carolyn Richards, Manager of Law Claims at the time,
“The success of the program created and delivered by Sue and Jane to the legal profession of South Australia was phenomenal. The highest testimony to the skills of Sue and Jane came from the underwriters of the Professional Indemnity Scheme and from the improvement in the claims record of the profession, which was significantly discernible for 3 years.”
Sue and Jane were at the forefront of legal risk management in Australia and began to be approached by Insurers and other organisations to provide risk management education for a wider audience.
Sue and Jane launched LeMessurier Harrington Consulting in 2001 so they could continue to develop this critical service for a broader group of clients.
Over the past 17 years the business has continued to provide much sought after risk and practice management education. Today LeMessurier Harrington Consulting has expanded into practice reviews and a range of management, HR and custom projects. We have recruited highly skilled personnel to join our team in order to continue to provide expert and personalised consultancy services.
